The Concentric Circles:

1. THE COMMUNITY

-Everyone you have the potential to reach on given Sunday. They visit occasionally, they are unchurch. They haven't decided to follow Jesus yet.

2. THE CROWD

-Consists of all the people who attend your church on a regular basis.

3. THE CONGREGATION

-Everyone who attends and become a member of the church. Regular attendees, given the support in the vision and values of your church.

4. THE COMMITTED

-Growing the relationship with the Lord Jesus and establishing the habits and disciplines of a disciple. They are committed to walk with God and are growing up spiritually.

5. THE CORE

-Are people who get involved and serve others through the ministries of the church. Who give their time and their loyalty to your church.

-Moving people from community and ultimately send them back once again to reach more of the community. They are prepared to be sent out on mission. They are commissioned.

1) One must be able to understand to work out from outside in.

2) Although the community is seen to be as having a loose commitment and most often than not are people who you cannot rely on yet, but they are proved to be vital as they will become your soon foundation of leaders.

3) Being able to provide programs for every circle will make them want to stay and continue to progress.

4) It's all about progress. From a neophyte to a commissioned believer is something that we all hope to see happen.

5) The whole circle or cycle encourages me to really reach out to the community first and trust God to make these people grow.

6) Arriving unto the small leadership circle is a daunting task. It will now be all about how their trainings should be and guiding them to their  God-given potential.

7) I have learned that this particular method is also applicable to children!

😎 I will be so excited to see children do the same. Imagine being able to send children to reach out to their peers as well.

9) The only way to see the ball rolling is to start the ball rolling!

2. A process is important in making disciples.
3. Be aware that every Sunday your church will have people in attendance at all kings of places in their spiritual journeys.
4. The Community is made yp of everyone you have the potental to reach on a given Sunday. They live near your church.
5. The Crowd consisits of all the people who attend your church on a regular basis.

Take aways on Growing People at every level:

1. The concentric circles were designed so that the ministry is will intentionally touch, bless and grow everyone wherever they are in their faith journey from Community to Commissioned.
2. Understanding the Circle keeps our ideas fresh and inclusive. This also expands our field of vision instead of merely focusing on being a managers we become leaders.
3. Seeing this affects all our plans and we tend to care and adjust to different kinds of people.
4. Seeing this also affects the way we grow people in a wholistic fashion that isnt at all linear but circular i.e., Win, Bond, Train, Send... to Win, Bond, Train, & Send and so forth.
5. This helps us evaluate our systems if they are merely a means-to-an-end or are they really optimized and useful for advancing the LORD’s Kingdom where we are?
6. This helps us eliminate systems and traditions that are monuments instead of movements.
7. This also helps us see if we are truly touching the community where we are planted.
8. Makes you think if what we are doing as a church useful to people of various levels of maturity i.e., to believe, to grow and to lead.

Take aways on levels of commitment from community to core:

1. Understanding the levels of commitment gives us a bird’s eye view of where people are and how we should connect with them.
2. It helps us develop sharp and clear processes that can develop people from community to commissioned.
3. When we understand how much people are willing to commit we know whether to pour gas or water.
4. Listening to the community helps you provide programs and processes that are truly useful to them and it shows we care. When we meet their needs we earn their commitments.
5. The levels of commitment should not only be understood by the pastor but by his core leaders as well for this will enable the group to develop to see angles that in various sectors of business, education, politics and sociology that sometimes the pastor doesnt have a firmer grip on.
6. Slow is fast. Small is Big. Keep it optimized and useful for every level in the Concentric Circle since this is all about church health and not just church growth. Keep the grass green and fresh, the sheep will follow.
7. Be willing to adjust. Fish chase after different baits. The bigger the fish, the bigger the bait; just make sure that the hook is still Christ.
8. Relationship building is the best bridge to help people get from one level of commitment to the next.

1. Its just amazing and inspiring that their kids have this avenue whereby they can practice this level of commitment that most adults find tedious.
2. It shows how much focused they are to reach various life stages and meet the needs appropriate for every life stage.

4. Crowd: Make the services fun, exciting and filled with learning for the kids.
5. Congregation: Simple and reproducible Kid’s Groups
6. Committed: Simple and reproducible habits of prayer, reading the Bible and leading others

Outline Project: Stick Sermon

ENGAGE: 
There was a time in my life that i almost give up my faith in God. I thought God is not listening to every prayer that i prayed. Where situation around me seems to fall down and there is no one that I can hold on to, that trials and hardship squeezed me so hard that I almost give up. Thinking that God is not concern with me.

TENSION:
All of us faced our own battles in life. Maybe you are now in situation that is trapped and do not know where to go. Maybe your business is falling apart due to this COVID 19 pandemic. If you are an employee maybe your employer is about to close their business because of this crisis. Maybe you are in your worst situation today.

TRUTH:
James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

APPLICATION:
In the midst of trials and testings in life, we need to have pure joy, faith and perseverance.

INSPIRATION:
Are you right now in a situation of giving up? Do not ever think God is not concerned about you, God feel what you feel and He sees your struggles in life. God is able and willing to help if we allow Him.

Matthew 11:28-30

Sample Outline (Sticky Sermon) on Ephesians 1:-10

Engage:
It’s always been our desire to live a blessed life. We work hard, we aspire to be the best and we aim for excellence.
Humanity thinks to be blessed has something to do with your wealth, your possession and your financial standing.


Tension:
But we need to understand be reminded that the greatest blessings in life are not actually things.


Truth:
Ephesians 1:1-10
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,  even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known  to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ  as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,  so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. Inspiration:
The world has its own definition and standard on how to be blessed and what does it mean to have a blessed life. But imagine what your life would be like if you have made that commitment to build your life in Christ and establish personal relationship with Him. In Christ you are blessed with infinite blessing at your disposal.


Action: 
Because in Christ you are indeed blessed therefore:

Refuse to be controlled by poverty mindset
Extend kindness and generosity
Thank the Lord for all the blessings

First Video:
Outlining your message helps you build your sermon faster. Although, I still would recommend the way we were taught in IBSM as it is more thorough and helps you avoid blindspots in mastery of the scripture you want to preach on.
I have always been a advocate of one point preaching as well being that everything builds to that one point. His outline inspired me and I love that he begins with a story to build a relevant connection with the audience and creates a point of tension and insight to be solved by the Word preached on that day. The congregation then sees the timelessness of the Word and is interested to know how. Re one point preaching it helps if your point is your title itself or your sub title if your doing a series


Second Video:
I love that he used “reps” or repetitions to sharpen oneself as a preacher. This is a new perspective that is a win-win. Creating avenues to preach sharpens you and blesses people at the same time. I remember having to preach four times in a day before. By the end the word was fermented in my heart and amplified so good and had a lot of impact. Im not saying that the first ones we less anointed but the revelations during preaching and as you do reps are so helpful and amazing that it gets better and better.

Engage:
The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith. —Billy Graham

For most of us, there’s always that pursuit to leave a lasting legacy in our lifetimes.


Tension:
Society doesn’t see the family/children to be the legacy that we can leave behind. Some focus on their life’s work and if they do consider their kids, it is so that their life’s work/companies/movements/vocations/projections to be continued by their children.

Systems and disciplines are passed on but very little focus on transferring values.


Truth:
Psalm‬ ‭127:2-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”

* Unless we sow on the things that God values, our restless toil reaps for us futile gain.
* The word tells us that we ought to see the next generation as our heritage/legacy
* Arrows have the potential to protect or harm. Where it is directed is where it create impact. How it is shaped will determine its quality.


Application:
* Let us focus our effort in inculcating Christ-like values to our kids and our lifegroup thru real-love-no-other-agenda discipleship. Failures and all, we have to believe that they will be 10x better than us.
* Sow trust, reap trust — in-case they fail, be patient with them like how mentors have been patient with us as well — progress follows.


Inspiration:
Imagine the people we are raising to be 10x better than us — just like JESUS towards the disciples.


Action:
* We need to pray for a new perspective in seeing that maybe the true lasting legacy we can leave is not what we do but WHO WE RAISE.
* Speak blessing to our kids and our lifegroup
* Invest trust support them in their battles

A lot of people today doesn’t believe in the word “HOPE” because of  what they are experiencing around them like corruption, injustices, sickness, poverty and other socio-economic issues. And make them questioned is there a GOD in times like this? and does hope really exist.

Truth
Habakkuk 3:17-19
Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.

The prophet questioned and gave his complains to God in the first two chapters because of what is happening around him and began to question is God going to do something about it. but at the end of the chapter he realises that God is sovereign and he is always in control, we always want the outcome in our timeline, but it will always be God’s timeline who will prevail.


Application
Habakkuk realised that he can’t control his own world but he learned that God is SOVEREIGN still. In good and bad times trust in Him.


Inspiration
There is HOPE that is found in Jesus alone.


Action 
How let God and be God in our situation?
- ACKNOWLEDGE that we need Him
- SURRENDER everything to HIM

Engage:
How do I know what God wants from me?

“The ability to ask the right question is more than half the battle of finding the answer.”

Tension:
What do you like doing? What are you good at? What are you uniquely gifted to do? I ignored these questions for a long years.

Have you ever failed to ask a question because you thought it might bedumb and  worried that asking questions will make you look bad?

I have! Too many times I’ve allowed my desire not to look foolish tokeep me from gaining knowledge that I needed.


Truth:
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:6-7).

If I want something, I need to ASK why. If it doesn't contradict God's Word, I can move forward in it, humbly and confident in God's goodness.


Application:
You Only Get Answers to the Questions You Ask.
If you need God's help you need to ASK Him. If you seek God's wisdom you need to ask. If you want to know your purpose and what God wants from you , ASK.


Inspiration:
Questions Cultivate Humility, help you to Engage Others in Conversation and allow us to Build Better Ideas.


Action:
And as a leader you must always be looking forward for the sake of yourteam. When you face a problem and don’t know what steps need to betaken to advance the team, ask the following questions:

Why do we have this problem?
How do we solve this problem?
What specific steps must we take to solve this problem?

I am blessed to be able to learn that in outlining your message you will be able to communicate your thought with one idea. That sticky idea needs to reach out so that when they come out of the building they will carry it with them. Having an outline will also reinforce your understanding of the context and how you want the preaching to go. Being able to do this will take out glances on your notes.


Second video:
It is good to record yourself to do podcasts so that you will be able to point out things that youve missed and strengthen your outline. Hence, you have a smooth directed flow of your sermon packed with a single idea that once caught by the hearers it will stay in their hearts and mind for a long time attributed to the work and power of the Holy Spirit.

Ill share my experience about my mother who would always wait for me to say sorry and will never point anything out that Ive done wrong, though at first it did not feel what I did was wrong. But, I always felt like I need to do something to fix it. Her being silent means she was hurt and awaits our apology. She would only remain quiet until I speak to her about anything just to strike a conversation. Help her out spontaneously hoping she would feel my remorse and apology through my service towards her. This specific attitude of my mother taught me patience because she lived a life of such. She remains quiet when she knows we made a mistake and she waits patiently for us to talk to her so that everything comes back to normal. And that normalcy is such a blessing. Able to freely talk to someone you love feels nice inside. She does not give us a cold shoulder but gives us hints of opportunity to reconcile.

***Tension

The thing about relationships; is that we will always be guessing the other person's feelings if and if we do not communicate. Especially when something is off. Most of the time we are not aware but we have hurt someone's feeling.

Have you ever felt that your loved ones did not respond to you the way they did yesterday?

Aha!! Haha you might have done something wrong!!

*i caught you looking at your spouse!! You who were unaware, ask for apology!! Haha

***Truth

This very attitude of being patient in times of our shortcomings is perfected in Jesus.

2 Peter 3:8-9
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Brother and sisters. There is a verse that David applied in his life that we can apply today.

"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Psalms 139:23‭-‬24

Today, may I ask you so kindly to pray and ask God. Are there any thing that is in my heart that have hurt you God?

God is patient. He awaits you to come back to Him and live a life of fulfillment. Not like the world offers but one that comes from heaven.

The reconciliation of the Creator and the creation!

***Inspiration 

God is patient and God is kind. There is nothing in your life that He was not able to see. He saw everything and all the things that have hurt Him. Yet, He is patient. Today is the day of salvation. Come to Him bare and raw. He accepts you for who you are.


***Action 

Today as you go out of this place. I ask you to talk to Him and pray to God to search your heart. Ask Him to reveal to you the things that needs to go and to live a life that is holy and pleasing to Him through the powerful grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Today experience the gift of reconciliation. A reconciliation incomparable. A reconciliation of heaven on earth.

ENGAGE
There were countless times that indeed were my dry seasons in my prayer life with God. And everytime I am in it, I would ask God to give me a holy desperation to pray to Him as a child to my Father.

TENSION
We all have dry seasons. Especially in our crisis, defeats, troubles, and trials. We would be lying if all the time our prayer life would be all on "highs". That's why it is important to ask God to give us desperation, hunger, and thirst for Him.

TRUTH
Psalm 27:7-8
[7] Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. [8] My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

We see here that David is so desperate for God's face and presence in his life. All throughout the Psalms and even the historical accounts that David had his fair share of experiencing troubles and we would see Him crying out for God.

APPLICATION
If David had the audacity to seek the face of God, then we are able to do it also. It is God's heart and desire that we know Him, but knowing Him starts with a desire for Him, and it is enabled through His grace and conviction in us.

INSPIRATION
Are you in a blurry, cloudy, and uncontrollavle situation? Then that's the best time to come to Him!
