Take Aways: (Growing People at Every Level of Commitment)

1. If people in a Church grow, then the Church will grow.

2. Every Church needs a process for making disciples.

3. You must be intentional about creating pathways for people to grow from one level of commitment to the next level.

4. The goal isn’t church growth, it’s church health.

5. Healthy church finds ways to move people from where they are to where God wants them to be in their spiritual journey.

6. Understanding where people are is vital to having a balanced discipleship process.

7. God’s purpose in our generation is to move them from “come and see” to “come and die”.

8. Show me your strategy but based it on what Jesus said to do.

9. In an intentional way, Jesus had a plan.

10. You’ve got to have a disciple making process.

Take Aways: (Levels of Commitment from Community to Core)

1. The goal of your organisation is to move people from the outer circle (low commitment) to the inner circle (high commitment).

2. Having more attendees than members means the organisation is being effective in attracting the unconverted.

3. I’ve learned that most people can’t hear until they’ve first been heard.

4. People don’t care how much we know until they know how much we care.

5. Intelligent, caring conversation opens the door for evangelism faster than anything else I’ve ever used.

6. Jesus was able to ask for commitment from the crowd only after demonstrating His love for them and earning their trust.

7. Create an atmosphere of acceptance.

8. Offer something they can’t get anywhere else.

9. What really attracts people to an organisation is “changed lives”.

10. Members have a sense of ownership- they are contributors, not just consumers.

11. Important to position the organisation as a family/community rather than institution.

12. Make the members feel special.

13. Create opportunities to build relationships- friendships are key to retaining members.

14. People might join because of a leader, but they Stay because of new friends.

Take Aways: ( The Concentric Circles Explained)

1. Serving Jesus can be like running a race.

2. To run our race well and finish strong, we need to be intentional about the way we serve.

3. We need to run with purpose.

4. Connect kids to God and others.

5. We intentionally keep the curriculum simple, fun and easy to understand so that our crowd kids can focus on learning about God and connecting to other kids and leaders.

6. Kids are taking steps to visible grow in their walk with Christ by reading their bible and praying daily.

7. Kids are serving from a heart that loves the Lord.

8. Kids share Christ with those around them and participate in global peace trip.

9. Spiritually healthy kids living all five of God’s purposes and in going out to share Jesus with others.

10. Understanding target audiences and pathways is an important part in helping kids become spiritually healthy.

3. THE CONGREGATION

-Everyone who attends and become a member of the church. Regular attendees, given the support in the vision and values of your church.

5. THE CORE

-Are people who get involved and serve others through the ministries of the church. Who give their time and their loyalty to your church.

6. THE COMMISSIONED

-Moving people from community and ultimately send them back once again to reach more of the community. They are prepared to be sent out on mission. They are commissioned.

-They are good people but they have not yet gotten involved in ministry (volunteer coordination).

Take Aways:

1) One must be able to understand to work out from outside in.

2) Although the community is seen to be as having a loose commitment and most often than not are people who you cannot rely on yet, but they are proved to be vital as they will become your soon foundation of leaders.

3) Being able to provide programs for every circle will make them want to stay and continue to progress.

4) It's all about progress. From a neophyte to a commissioned believer is something that we all hope to see happen.

5) The whole circle or cycle encourages me to really reach out to the community first and trust God to make these people grow.

6) Arriving unto the small leadership circle is a daunting task. It will now be all about how their trainings should be and guiding them to their  God-given potential.

7) I have learned that this particular method is also applicable to children!

😎 I will be so excited to see children do the same. Imagine being able to send children to reach out to their peers as well.

9) The only way to see the ball rolling is to start the ball rolling!

DANIEL BAGAYO

Take aways on Growing People at every level:

1. The concentric circles were designed so that the ministry is will intentionally touch, bless and grow everyone wherever they are in their faith journey from Community to Commissioned.
2. Understanding the Circle keeps our ideas fresh and inclusive. This also expands our field of vision instead of merely focusing on being a managers we become leaders.
3. Seeing this affects all our plans and we tend to care and adjust to different kinds of people.
4. Seeing this also affects the way we grow people in a wholistic fashion that isnt at all linear but circular i.e., Win, Bond, Train, Send... to Win, Bond, Train, & Send and so forth.
5. This helps us evaluate our systems if they are merely a means-to-an-end or are they really optimized and useful for advancing the LORD’s Kingdom where we are?
6. This helps us eliminate systems and traditions that are monuments instead of movements.
7. This also helps us see if we are truly touching the community where we are planted.
8. Makes you think if what we are doing as a church useful to people of various levels of maturity i.e., to believe, to grow and to lead.

Take aways on levels of commitment from community to core:

1. Understanding the levels of commitment gives us a bird’s eye view of where people are and how we should connect with them.
2. It helps us develop sharp and clear processes that can develop people from community to commissioned.
3. When we understand how much people are willing to commit we know whether to pour gas or water.
4. Listening to the community helps you provide programs and processes that are truly useful to them and it shows we care. When we meet their needs we earn their commitments.
5. The levels of commitment should not only be understood by the pastor but by his core leaders as well for this will enable the group to develop to see angles that in various sectors of business, education, politics and sociology that sometimes the pastor doesnt have a firmer grip on.
6. Slow is fast. Small is Big. Keep it optimized and useful for every level in the Concentric Circle since this is all about church health and not just church growth. Keep the grass green and fresh, the sheep will follow.
7. Be willing to adjust. Fish chase after different baits. The bigger the fish, the bigger the bait; just make sure that the hook is still Christ.
8. Relationship building is the best bridge to help people get from one level of commitment to the next.

Take aways on The Concentric Circles Explained for Kids;

1. Its just amazing and inspiring that their kids have this avenue whereby they can practice this level of commitment that most adults find tedious.
2. It shows how much focused they are to reach various life stages and meet the needs appropriate for every life stage.
3. Community: Develop an event for kids and their family.
4. Crowd: Make the services fun, exciting and filled with learning for the kids.
5. Congregation: Simple and reproducible Kid’s Groups
6. Committed: Simple and reproducible habits of prayer, reading the Bible and leading others
7. Commissioned: O.J.T. Nothing teaches better and cements the teaching better than experience.
